Gravity Anomaly Over a Vertical Shaft

This Java script will produce synthetic gravity anomalies over a buried vertical shaft. If there is nothing between the two horizontal lines shown below, you have a browser that does not support Java. In this case, you need to upgrade your Web browser to one that supports Java.

You can use this script to design a gravity survey for the project described in the request for bid. The gray rectangle represents a vertical shaft with a specific radius, depth of burial, and density contrast. The depth of burial and the radius of the tunnel can be varied by clicking with the mouse on the top of the shaft and dragging the shaft to different depths. The radius of the shaft can be varied by grabbing the side of the shaft. All other parameters are varied with the slider bars.

In addition to parameters that control the shaft, you can also vary parameters that control gravity survey from which you will interpret observations. These parameters include the spacing between gravity readings, the number of gravity readings to be average at each station, and the expected standard deviation of the observed gravity readings.
