Graduate Certificate in Environmental Science

Duration of Course

The Graduate Certificate in Environmental Science must normally be completed within one semester full-time enrolment or one year part-time enrolment.

Commencement

The course commences in either Semester One (February) or Semester Two (July), upon approval of the Specialisation Coordinator. In some years, depending on course offerings, it may not be possible to commence studies in Semester Two.

Objective

The Graduate Certificate in Environmental Science aims to provide students with the opportunities for subject based learning. The program equips graduates with qualitative and quantitative research skills for field-based applications in Environmental Science.

Course Requirements

Students must complete successfully 50 points to be awarded a Graduate Certificate in Environmental Science. Special conditions apply to students holding three year Bachelor degrees without at least 2 years relevant work experience (see above).

Students should consult the Faculty of Science Postgraduate Prospectus for information regarding the required passmark for each subject.

Of the 50 points

Students must complete 2 core subjects (25 points) and 2 or 3 additional subjects (25 points). At least one subject should be associated with one of the three Specialisations, plus an elective or a review topic.
