Graduate Diploma in Environmental Science
Duration of Course
The Graduate Diploma in Environmental Science must normally be completed within twelve months full-time enrolment or two years part-time enrolment.
Commencement
The course commences in either Semester One (February) or Semester Two (July), upon approval of the Specialisation Coordinator. In some years, depending on course offerings, it may not be possible to commence in Semester Two.
Objective
The Graduate Diploma in Environmental Science aims to provide students with complementary opportunities for subject based learning and independent research. The program equips graduates with qualitative and quantitative research skills for field-based applications in Environmental Science.

Course Requirements
Students must successfully complete 100 points to be awarded a Graduate Diploma in Environmental Science. A maximum of 50 points earned through the Graduate Certificate in Environmental Science will count towards the Graduate Diploma.
Students should consult the Faculty of Science Postgraduate Prospectus for information regarding the required passmark for each subject.
Of the 100 points
A maximum of 87.5 points can be credited from the successful completion of course work. Students must complete 2 to 3 core subjects (up to 37.5 points) and a balance of electives, as approved by the Specialisation Coordinator. A minimum of 12.5 points and a maximum of 25 points can be credited for the successful completion of an original review or research topic.
