From 1994 to 1997 I studied Earth Sciences at EWHA Womans University -as the school name implies, I was very keen on Feminism during my univ. period *^^* , but not any more. (also, "womans" is not my typo. When the
school was established (1886?), American missionaries used "womans" rather than "women")
Because I had to take four compulsory subjects (geology, meteorology,
astronomy, oceanograpy), it struck on me that this nature is so
well interwoven, and one nature phenomenon occures with many interacting
processes with other phenomena. -> This was why I finally decided to do
science.
In 1999, I happened to meet Prof. Ian Simmonds to ask how to get to School of Earth Sciences at Melbourne Univ., and the meeting became the critical point to do meteorology among four subjects. So I did my honours here with Prof. Simmonds, and the title was "The analysis of explosive cyclone,"bomb", in the Southern Hemisphere".
I am studying meteorology for my Ph.D. My topic is "Global changes in
synoptic activity with increasing atmospheric CO2". My supervisor is Prof. Ian Simmonds, and NCEP-DOE reanalysis II data set is used as observaton data, and CSIRO MARK II data are provided from Antarctic CRC at Tasmania. I've just finished my confirmation for my first year PhD. Hue~ ^.^; The most interesting part of my first year PhD was collecting information related to the project
from various papers and books and getting a sense of what I am doing. If you
want to know more about my project, I will let you have a Captine Cook
at my report .
FINISHED! I'm writing papers for publication.
