About Me

 

I am a geologist with research interests in a wide range of earth science fields. I am currently an ARC Research Fellow in the School of Earth Sciences at the University of Melbourne. My main research interest is in understanding the long term evolution of the Australian continent. I also have an appointment as a Senior Lecturer in Structural Geology and Tectonics in the School, to which I will return when my ARC Fellowship is completed.

I am also involved in occasional outreach activities to primary and secondary schools as part of the Victorian Young Tall Poppy Science program. I have also contributed to Australasian Science Magazine and Cosmos Magazine. In 2008 I attended the inaugural Interacademy Panel meeting for Young Scientists as part of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting of Young Champions (in Tianjin, China)


When I’m not at work, I can usually be found swimming, at pilates class, at yoga or generally trying to improve my use of self via the Alexander Technique. When I have accumulated sufficient leave, I can be found either at home in South Australia or on various overseas adventures with my husband, Richard.
