About Me

 

I am a geologist with research interests in a wide range of earth science fields. I am currently a Lecturer in the School of Earth Sciences at the University of Melbourne. My main teaching responsibilities are in the field of Structural Geology and Tectonics. My main research interest is in understanding the long term evolution of the Australian continent.

within the School of Earth Sciences I am a member of Young MEATS. In the Faculty of Science I am a member of the Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace (EOWW) committee. I am also part of the Review Integration Panel of the Science Advisory Committee for Auscope.


I am also involved in occasional outreach activities to primary and secondary schools as part of the Victorian Young Tall Poppy Science program. I have also contributed to Australasian Science Magazine and Cosmos Magazine. In 2008 I attended the inaugural Interacademy Panel meeting for Young Scientists as part of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting of Young Champions (in Tianjin, China)


When I’m not at work, I can usually be found swimming, at pilates class, at yoga or generally trying to improve my use of self via the Alexander Technique. When I have accumulated sufficient leave, I can be found either at home in South Australia or on various overseas adventures with my husband, Richard.
