I have been involved in the Meteorology section of the School of Earth Sciences at Melbourne University, Melbourne, Australia since 1994. From 1994 to 1999 I worked as a research assistant with Ian Simmonds, concentrating on land surface-atmosphere interactions, and then in 1999 I started a PhD studying the modelled weather and climate of Australia and the Southern Hemisphere at the Last Glacial Maximum, about 20,000 years ago. I am currently working in the research centre at the Bureau of Meteorology to better understand the circulation influencing south west Western Australia, but I continue to have a strong interest in past climates and have strong ties to the Earth Science Department at the University of Melbourne.
